Summer Guest Housing


The following information applied to the summer of 2009.

It is provided as a reference only. Costs and services for

the summer of 2010 have not yet been determined.

 

INTRODUCTION

 

K-State Housing and Dining Services offers guest housing during the summer for individuals here for university-related business or a university event. Guest housing will be located in Moore Hall. Please go to the front desk of Moore Hall on your arrival. For directions, please visit http://www.k-state.edu/maps/index.html?show=MO.

All rooms are traditional residence hall rooms with a community bathroom. Males and females are normally housed on separate corridors. Married couples or families will be housed on the female corridor, and males will need to use the bathroom on the male corridor. Checkout time is 1:00 P.M.

COST

    $26 per person, per night for a double room.

    $33 per person, per night for a single room.

AMENITIES

The following items will be provided in your room: sheets, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, bath towel, hand towel, washcloth and a plastic drinking cup. Towels and linens may be exchanged at the front desk. All items provided must remain in the room when you check out.

A telephone, with local service, will be available in rooms until August 5.

Moore Hall has a kitchenette and television room in the basement lobby.

There is a laundry facility in the basement. The charge to use washers and dryers is 75¢ per load. You may purchase a laundry use card at the front desk for $3.00. Unused value is not refunded.

COMPUTERS AND ETHERNET

After check-in, a guest who brings a personal computer and wants an in- room ResNet ethernet connection may get more information at http://housing.k-state.edu/resnet. An ethernet connection allows e-mail, Internet and K-State network access.

There is no charge for wireless access available in the residence halls. Information on wireless access will be available at the Moore Hall front desk.

Web browser stations are available in the main lobby.

DINING SERVICES

Meals will be available in Derby Dining Center from approximately May 26 to the end of July, at an additional cost. Availability of meals in August has not been finalized. If you would like to arrange meals in advance, please indicate this when completing the online registration form. (Use the box labeled "Please specify any special housing arrangements, comments, or questions," and you will be contacted.) You may purchase meals at the dining services checker's stand on a pay-as- you-go basis. Meal prices are:

    Breakfast - $4.50

    Lunch - $6.50

    Dinner - $9.50

PARKING

If you need to park on campus, you must have a parking permit. Permits are not required on weekends, or after 5:00 P.M. on weekdays, after the spring semester and before the fall semester. Information on temporary parking permits and fees is available from Parking Services in Edwards Hall (7:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) or from K-State Police in Edwards Hall (after 5:00 P.M.). This permit does not allow you to park in reserved spaces. You must also have a handicap tag to park in the handicap parking spaces.

PAYMENT

If your housing costs are not being paid by a sponsoring department or organization, you have two options: 

  1. Pay at the front desk of Moore Hall on arrival
  2. Pay at the Guest Services Office between 8:00-12:00 A.M. or 1:00-5:00 P.M. on the business day following your arrival. Credit card payments (VISA or MasterCard) may be made at the front desk when you check in.
