Residence Life Coordinator (RLC)
Brian Jaworski
Each hall or complex has a full-time live-in professional staff member. The RLC is a graduate of a master's program, most typically college student personnel. The RLC is responsible for planning and supervising all services and operations in the hall or complex. Duties include helping residents with academic needs, housing and personal problems, advising residence hall student groups, providing educational programs, supervising and training RAs and MAs, and helping residents develop and maintain positive communities.
Assistant Residence Life Coordinator (ARLC)
Eric Mann
ARLCs are full-time graduate students pursuing academic work in student counseling/personnel services who also live in the residence halls. Most halls and complexes have at least one ARLC who assists the Residence Life Coordinator in all areas of hall management; including community development, student group advising, and staff supervision.
Resident Assistants (RA’s)
Each floor has a resident assistant that lives on the floor and is there to assist residents as they adjust to K-State and Haymaker Hall. RA’s are knowledgeable of campus and the residence halls. They know about different opportunities to get involved. They also design and put on programs to help the residents get to know each other better.

Haymaker HGB (Hall Governing Board) is a great opportunity to get involved in the hall, take on leadership experience and meet new people. It can be compared to your high school’s student council. The Hall Governing Board meets weekly, helps put on programs for the halls, and helps initiate changes students want to see in Hayamker. Leadership positions are available as floor presidents and Association of Residence Hall representatives. Once you move in, inquire with your RA, the RLC, or seek out your HGB exec board. If you are not looking for something quite that involved consider becoming part of the general body; it’s a great way to be involved and you can decide your level of commitment.
